Webshop and payments

Choose a shop channel: hosted, embed, WooCommerce or API

Compare shop channels by IT effort, who sets up what, and when online redemption is available.

Four ways to sell and redeem online

| Channel | IT level | Who sets up? | Kadova handles | Online redemption |

|---------|----------|--------------|----------------|-------------------|

| Hosted shop | No IT | You in dashboard | Checkout + shop | Yes (two toggles) |

| Embed | Website admin | You + website admin | Same checkout | Yes (two toggles) |

| WooCommerce | WordPress/Woo | WP/Woo admin | Plugin + API | Via plugin on your site |

| Custom API | Developer | Developer/IT | v2 lifecycle | In your own checkout |

Decision route

  1. Gift cards only, no website IT → hosted shop.
  2. Existing website, Kadova checkout on a page → embed (iframe and/or widget V1 via widget.v1.js — floating launcher or inline block; allowlist required).
  3. Gift card + own merchandise in one WordPress cart → WooCommerce.
  4. Custom checkout/PSP in your system → custom API (not a billable dashboard shop mode).

Hosted vs embed

Both use the same Kadova checkout. Embed can be a full-page iframe or the widget loader (floating + inline) on your site; PSP/3DS always opens outside the iframe in a popup.

WooCommerce vs custom API

  • WooCommerce: official plugin, wizard under Webshop → Shop channel.
  • Custom API: no separate dashboard channel; your developer integrates v2 authorize/capture.

Online redemption (hosted/embed)

Two toggles must be on:

  1. Gift card payment in webshop (Webshop → Settings)
  2. Online redemption (Settings → Security)

Customers use redemption code + PIN; the card number stays for in-store use.
