Prepare a gift card migration
Migrate existing cards from another system into Kadova safely.
Quick answer
Export your legacy data, map it to the Kadova migration template, and run a validation migration first.
Steps
- Download the migration template from Migration in your dashboard.
- Fill in card codes, balances, expiry dates, and store references.
- Upload a test file and review validation results.
- Plan a go-live window with minimal sales activity.
- Run the final migration and verify spot-check balances.
Limits
- CSV only (.csv). Excel (.xlsx), text (.txt) and other formats are rejected.
- Up to 500 rows or ~1 MB: direct validation in one step.
- Up to 100,000 cards: automatic chunked upload (500 rows per chunk) with background validation.
- Larger files? Contact support for an assisted migration.
Expected outcome
Legacy cards are active in Kadova without duplicate codes or balance gaps.
Common issues
- Duplicate codes — remove overlaps with cards already issued in Kadova.
- Wrong store mapping — store IDs must match stores created in settings.
